Chronic pain
Whether chronic pain is caused by arthritis in the hip or bulging disc in the lower back, or a result of an accident or injury, pain is ultimately experienced in the brain. Networks of nerve cells relay pain signals from the spinal cord to the brain so that you perceive pain. Chronic pain is the result of the pain signaling pathways going awry. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment can alter the activity of these neural networks to reduce the perception of pain. A course of TMS treatments can produce long-lasting changes in brain activity, thus giving you long-lasting pain relief.
